Since 1987 I have indulged in my passion for New York City by giving tours, talks and classes of its history. These presentations often concern baseball.

Among the organizations that have sponsored my tours and talks are the American Museum of Natural History, the Municipal Art Society and the Brooklyn Historical Society. My course "Understanding New York City" has proven especially popular at the Osher Center of New York University.

As the product of a Brooklyn Dodger family, I eventually came to see connections between local history and that of baseball. This led to my groundbreaking course "Baseball Is New York," since taught at Hunter College and at the New School, and to lectures on the ties between the history of Brooklyn and the integration of baseball.

I am now writing a book to be entitled "Baseball Is New York." I am the former executive director of a Manhattan nonprofit organization and am a non-practicing member of the California bar.
